★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The kedai makan "Besan" is one of my favourite place to enjoy nasi uduk Betawi, located at the Jalan Raden Saleh... close to the West Jakarta and Tangerang territorial boundary... Starting as a small "warung makan" accomodate not exceed than 16 on site guests... at first, most of the nasi uduk lovers buy to carry away for home ... As the kedai offers abundant complement menu, the kedai customers have increased with significant numbers. Now the kedai has extended the dining room more than 6 times than before... For westerners who tries this kind of rice probably taste similar like "nasi lemak" Melayu... Neighbouring country Malaysia and West part of Indonesia has got some similarity of culinary history. For a brief information how to cook traditional Jakartan's nasi uduk as follows : White rice as a main ingredient is boiled with Xanthan "coconut milk" and other specific herbs : cloves, lemongrasses, Indonesian bay leaves and proporsional some teaspoon of salt altogether within a traditional big bowl... after boil half done then move to a "big cone bamboo" the oldtime kitchen utensil for steaming untill completely done... ready to serve usually with various spicy side dishes...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A year ago I was curious about this nasduk, because when passing home after work the work was always crowded & the shrimp was far from tempting. Finally tried here & was hooked. There are lots of lauk, minum ada es kelapa, es teh, teh hangat, dll. The service is quite good, but the cashier is rather judes?. The overall is pretty good?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time here and the taste is priceless, the rice was so delicious even when there is no side dish. Fortunately, there are tons of side dishes here, just like you can see in the pictures.
However, the price is not common for nasi uduk, its a bit higher, than another nasi uduk, but it's worth it! I had a plate of rice with empal, perkedel, sate udang, Tempe and a glass of hot tea for IDR 42.000.
The seat was plenty, but the parking area was not enough for the customers. They need to expand to a bigger place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tasty & great selection of food, prices are reasonable, very popular and can get a bit crowded so parking can ve a challenge. Overall a good place to eat. Located just outside of West Jakarta towards Tangerang. Not far from Meruya or Green Lake City. The most popular dishes are the semur jengkol and empal with nasi uduk + bawang goreng (fried red onion slices). Opens until quite late maybe past midnight. Good for a quick bite.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really like this place. Its traditional jakarta food, nasi uduk. Parking for car is difficult, for motorcycle is a lot easier. Many choices of food. Tried their nasi uduk, ati, egg, tofu and really like the taste. Price for my food 21k net plus ice tea
