★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sempat cuma sehari aja di Jakarta Barat, untuk keperluan nyiapin saudara kerja. Dadakan butuh papan rak kayu, karena barang2 lumayan banyak. Sempat cari2 rak kayu di store2 furniture besar2, namun belum ada yang cocok.
Coba cari di Google Maps, ternyata ada yang dekat di daerah Anggrek, jadi coba telpon. Ternyata yang terima adalah owner utama, sementara workshop nya dipegang putra2nya. Oleh owner utama disaranin langsung ke lokasi aja, pasti buka.
Setelah jalan kaki sekitar 15 menit, sampailah di lokasi. Awalnya sempat ragu2, karena workshopnya kosong, tapi ada suara TV dari dalam. Coba ketok2 bbrp kali tapi belum ada respon. Sempat bimbang, apa mau coba cari tempat lain, tapi kok sepertinya akan makan waktu. Jadi coba ditunggu sebentar, dan tidak berapa lama ada pemiliknya keluar.
Ngobrol2 bentar tentang kebutuhannya, sambil liat2 papan2 kayu yang ada. Ternyata ada banyak jenis yang dimiliki, dan workshopnya ini lebih spesialisasi ke kusen kayu. Namun untuk kebutuhan saya, sepertinya tidak ready stock. Yang saya senang adalah Mas Joko, sang owner, tidak menyerah begitu saja. Mas Joko langsung mencoba cari-cari kayu yang ada, dan menawarkan salah satu kayu di luar. Saya oke dengan ketebalan dan lebar kayu, tinggal panjangnya saja yang akan disesuaikan oleh Mas Joko. Ditawarkan untuk ditinggal 10 menit, nanti akan dihaluskan dulu permukaannya.
Setelah diproses sekitar 10 menit, kayu sudah diproses jadi lebih halus. Memang ada beberapa lubang alami, tapi coba didempul sama ownernya. Dan saya rasa sudah cukup untuk dijadikan rak.
Dari ngobrol ngalor ngidul, ternyata Mas Joko orang tuanya dari Grobogan, masih sama2 daerah tengah Jawa, dekat dengan Jogja. Dan saya salut karena walaupun tinggal jauh dari asal kebudayaan Jawa, tapi Mas Joko seakan masih berpegang teguh pada ke-jawaan-nya. Serasa ditampar saya sebagai orang Jawa yang tinggal di Jogja.

After walking for about 15 minutes, we arrived at the location. At first I was hesitant, because the workshop was empty, but there was a TV sound from inside. Tried knocking several times but no response. Was undecided whether to try to find another place, but how come it looks like it will take time. So try to wait a while, and not how long the owner comes out.
Chat for a while about their needs, while looking at the existing wooden boards. It turns out that there are many types that are owned, and this workshop is more specialized in wood frames. But for my needs, it doesn't seem ready stock. What I'm happy about is that Mas Joko, the owner, doesn't just give up. Mas Joko immediately tried to find the existing wood, and offered one of the wood outside. I'm okay with the thickness and width of the wood, only the length will be adjusted by Mas Joko. It is offered to be left for 10 minutes, later the surface will be smoothed first.
After processing for about 10 minutes, the wood has been processed so it is smoother. Indeed there are some natural holes, but try to putty it together with the owner. And I think it's enough to be used as a shelf.
From chatting with each other, it turns out that Mas Joko's parents are from Grobogan, still in the middle of Java, close to Jogja. And I salute you because even though you live far from the origin of Javanese culture, Mas Joko seems to still stick to his Javanese culture. I felt like I was slapped as a Javanese living in Jogja.
