★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When you're coming on the right day, the scenery is mesmerizing and the trek is moderate (not too easy but not too hard). Therefore, you need to make sure that you are coming on the right day by checking the weather forecast first. Because it will be very chaotic when it is rainy, foggy, and windy, you will not be able to see the scenery. But it won't matter if you just want to experience the adventure and the weather can change very quickly. The registration is already online, so make sure you have been registered before coming.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a conservation area, there are so many mongkey in the Forrest, in the tracking line you can find lutung java (Javanese native primate), Javanese eagle, and other birds. Selo regancy is the official gate for checking in and tracking to climb the mountain, if you are a local tourist you just pay Rp 5K its about $0.5 if you are foreigner may you pay more expensive, may be $10. Besides from selo there are so many illegal gate to climb the mountain. In this Conservation area you will find savanna with great views, to go that you must tracking at least 3 or 4 hours tracking, and the track is not hard but you must be careful if tracking after rain.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you search for the pure beauty nature you just totally correct if you choose this vanue. In this national park you could find everything you want, such as waterfall, pines, camp field, mount and so. You also can interact with local people. Seriously, you couldn't find friendliness just like I found from local people. They would very love to share what they have, especially the food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely hike (be prepared to get on all fours and scramble), great views, also met a number of local hikers who were really friendly and decided to adopt a lone female hiker :)
Tip: If bringing your own tent make sure it doesn't have a mesh opening... Made this mistake as a beginner and ended up being drenched in volcanic ash at night when the wind came up.

we were 6 of us, hiking together from many places, but all of us were living in Bali n did some hiking there together too sometimes, n Mt. Merbabu was the first time we hiked that close to my homeland.
