The Muntilan Mission Museum is a museum that exhibits various historical collections of the Catholic church in Central Java and Yogyakarta from the Dutch colonial period to the present.
Entering this museum is free of charge (just fill in the guest book and are allowed to fill in the available donation box).
The museum collections as far as I have noticed are church equipment from the past, lay equipment that plays an important role in the church, equipment for congregations that play a role in the Archdiocese of Semarang (KAS), as well as some items of the KAS Bishops (from the days of Mgr Soegijapranata - Mgr Pujasemarta ). And so forth. Do not forget that there are items belonging to the late Romo Sanjaya and
The late Mangunwijaya along with the mass equipment used during the visit of Pope John Paul 2 in 1989.
There is a lot of admiration for the existing collection, some information is collected and a little can be found out about the historical development of KAS here.
I hope that various circles of Catholics can visit this Museum. ?

β β β β β I was there when it was not open yet. So I didn't know what's inside. But I like the outside enough that I can give it 4/5 stars. It is a good place to go after morning mass and after a stroll in Kerkop/Graveyard just beside the Van Lith School. In the outside, there is Van Lith statue in the pond as you can see in the photos. The complex are beautiful. Please notice the color of the tree leaves in the morning. It is heavenly and indeed can be called Bethlehem van Java.
