★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wahyu yang pertama kali turun kepada nabi Muhammad SAW adalah surat Al Alaq. Surat yang memerintahkan kepada nabi untuk IQRA atau membaca. Padahal kita ketahui bahwa saat itu Muhammad adalah seorang buta huruf, Ia tidak dapat membaca dan menulis sehingga disebut “umi”. Kala itu Muhammad sendiri bingung berapa kali Ia menyebutkan pada malaikat Jibril bahwa dirinya tidak dapat membaca. Tetapi malaikat Jibril meyakinkan Muhammad untuk terus membaca ( Iqra ). Ternyata banyak pelajaran yang terkandung pada kata “IQRA”. Secara harfiah Iqra artinya membaca, tetapi membaca disini memiliki arti bahwa yang dibaca bukan hanya apa yang tertulis tetapi yang lebih utama adalah membaca apa yang terkandung di balik tulisan tersebut.
Melalui bimbingan malaikat Jibril nabi Muhammad akhirnya menerima wahyu Allah. Kata “IQRA” mengajarkan Nabi Muhammad untuk tidak sekedar membaca dan menyampaikan wahyu Allah melalui ayat Alqur’an tetapi membaca keadaan lingkungannya, kaumnya dan apa yang terjadi disekitarnya. Nabi Muhammad selalu mencari solusi yang bijak untuk setiap permasalahan yang terjadi. Sehingga kita mengetahui dari sejarah bagaimana contoh keteladanan nabi Muhammad sepanjang hidupnya.
Saat ini, kita seringkali lupa, kebanyakan kita hanya bisa membaca apa yang tertulis tapi kurang bisa membaca apa yang tersirat dibalik tulisan tersebut. Kepekaan hati kita kadang kurang terasah sehingga kita mengabaikan ayat-ayat Allah yang ada di sekitar kita. Membaca tulisan melalui buku atau media cetak memang penting sebagai pegangan ilmu. Karena praktek tanpa ilmu tidak akan jadi amalan. Akan lebih baik bila kita pun mulai mengasah diri untuk lebih peka terhadap segala sesuatu di balik apa yang tertulis. Berlatih dengan melihat tanda-tanda kekuasaan Allah yang tersebar di muka bumi, berlatih mengasah kepekaan diri melalui sikap sosial terhadap kondisi kekurangan dan ketidaksempurnaan orang lain. Dan jangan lupa membaca kondisi diri kita sendiri sebelum kita membaca di luar diri kita.
The revelation that first came down to the prophet Muhammad SAW was the letter Al Alaq. Letters commanding the prophet to IQRA or read. At that time Muhammad himself was confused about how many times he mentioned to the angel Gabriel that he could not read. But the angel Gabriel convinced Muhammad to continue reading (Iqra). It turns out that many lessons are contained in the word "IQRA". Literally Iqra means reading, but reading here means that what is read is not only what is written but more importantly reads what is contained behind the writing.
Through the guidance of the angel Gabriel the prophet Muhammad finally received Allah's revelations. The word "IQRA" taught the Prophet Muhammad to not only read and convey Allah's revelations through the verses of the Alquran but to read the state of his environment, his people and what was happening around him. Prophet Muhammad always looked for wise solutions to every problem that occurred. So that we know from history how exemplary examples of the prophet Muhammad throughout his life.
Today, we often forget, most of us can only read what is written but cannot read between the lines of the writing. Sometimes the sensitivity of our hearts is not honed so that we ignore the verses of Allah that are around us. Reading writing through books or printed media is indeed important as a guide for knowledge. Because practice without knowledge will not be practice. It would be better if we started sharpening ourselves to be more sensitive to everything behind what is written. Practicing by looking at the signs of Allah's power that are scattered on the earth, practicing to hone self-sensitivity through social attitudes towards the conditions of the shortcomings and imperfections of others. And don't forget to read our own condition before we read outside ourselves.
