★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Although this restaurant has many branches in Jakarta, my husband and I chose to dine at the one in Gandaria City Mall.
Located on the upper ground floor, the restaurant in Gandaria City Mall has a wide space, separated into three areas. It is suitable for couples, but not for a large group.
All udon dishes are delicious. They could be accompanied by many kinds of tempura. Ocha tea will be the best choice for the beverage. The price is affordable. Same price for all branches.
A good restaurant for a quick lunch or light dinner. However, the place is not comfortable to have a long chat with friends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Its amazing, this restaurant has many customer on every saturday evening. The cue to get the food was quite long, I happen to be there for 8 person of all family member. Seeing the cue was quite long enough, which I thought of not getting the seat upon my acuired food, I tried to organize to the waiter which I reckon very helpfull foressing possible empty tables. But everyone in the cue has got the same right, so I humbly coordinate with them as well as to help them finding out the tables which has been taken from other considerate customer which willingly to give their table. I finally after 10 mins or so, I had an assurance all of my family had got seats to dine in.... what an effort to just get something to eat at this particular moment..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a good place for eat udon. You can order any kind of it that listed in the menu. You can also order some extras like tempura, katsu etc. You can refill your drink (ocha or lemon tea) as many as you like.
The place is not really big and very limited. If the resto is to crowded, you not only queueing for the food, but also for the table.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was in gancy to exchange a voucher for an event and we ended up hungry. At first didn’t know what I wanted, then my boyfriend nudged at me, “Marugame, let’s?” I didn’t hesitate all.
Food and beverages: 4.5/5
Its quality is unquestionable. Made right in front of our eyes, they serve our food fast, warm, and fresh. I always order Carbonara Udon, my boyfriend opted for Niku Udon, and Cold Ocha. Carbonara udon was made in this series: udon was cooked in less than a minute, put into a bowl, drizzled with the carbonara sauce that looked like mayonnaise, topped with half boiled tamago, grated cheese, and beef bits. Udon had the right texture - fully cooked but still had that chewiness and not mushy at all. My personal preference is to mix the tamago right in with the rest, this will create a creamy mixture that collaborates wonderfully with the udon. Niku udon was made the same way except they include tamago and instead of the sauce, it was complemented with the savory kake dashi and beef slices. This dish would be great on a cold day; warm and seasoned right. Besides the main course, we ordered the side dishes: beef croquette, tempura, and baby bean kakiage. All of these were freshly fried and good on its own (although dipping these in the carbonara cream or kake dashi is better). You can get chili, leek, and crispy topping for free. Nothing here ever failed me.
Pricing: 4.5/5
For two people, 2 main dishes, 3 side dishes, and a glass of cold ocha only costed me IDR162k! Pretty fulfilling and tastes great, all the foods are worth the price. Not to mention the ocha is bottomless!
Ambience: 3/5
Located in Upper Ground, right next to the escalator. As you can guess, all Marugame Udon outlets have the same japanese settings: a few landscape paintings and furnitures dominated with wood. There are sofa seatings and normal seatings. Outlet here in Gancy is quite spacious although still sometimes when it gets full, they can’t accommodate all customers. They did expand though since they first opened due to high demand.
Service: 4/5
Food is made fresh by order and served fast. We fill our own drinks though. Waiters were attentive and cleaned the table as soon as they can.
Highlight: Carbonara Udon makes me drool every single time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ marugame udon can be your safe-standard tasting udon franchise restaurant....a well known restaurant but there are other better options out there, especially if you are allowed to eat pork. but for majority of Indonesian, Marugame will suffice. the fritters price are a bit overpriced, and the health protocol are strictly enforced.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quick and comforting Japanese food with udon specialty. They do sell rice and fried foods to choose for as side dish. We’ve always love the curry which was the best among the rest. We also tried the carbonara which is quite good and unique.
