Meski terletak dalam satu area, namun kondisi bangunan terpisah menjadi empat bagian dengan jalan sebagai pembatasnya. Selain ilmu agama dan umum, di madrasah ini juga diberikan bekal keterampilan bagi peserta didik yang juga sebagian besar santri Pondok Pesantren.
Previously named the State Madrasah Aliyah or MAN Babakan until later it changed to MAN 1 Tegal. Although it is located in one area, the condition of the building is separated into four parts by way of dividing it. In addition to religious and public sciences, the madrasa is also given skills for students who are also mostly santri boarding schools.
