★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ki Ageng Perwito, salah satu anak dari Sultan Trenggono, raja ketiga Demak. Artinya beliau merupakan cucu dari Raden Fatah, pendiri kerajaan Islam pertama di Tanah Jawa.
Bila merujuk pada kondisi Jawa di masa itu, berarti beliau memiliki misi untuk memperluas dakwah Islam secara damai di wilayah pedalaman.
Selepas pertikaian Jaka Tingkir dan Arya Penangsang, pusat kekuasaan Demak Bintoro di wilayah pesisir berpindah ke Pajang di sekitara Solo saat ini. Demak kemudian hanya menjadi salah satu kadipaten bagi kerajaan baru Pajang yang dibangun oleh Joko Tingkir yang bergelar Sultan Hadiwijaya.
Gerakan Islamisasi mulai masuk wilayah pedesaan pertanian. Ki Ageng Perwito, konon kabarnya, mendapatkan titah dari Kanjeng Sunan Kalijaga untuk menjalankan misi dakwah di wilayah sekitaran Pajang.
Hingga hari ini, syiar Islam dari masjid yang berlokasi di dekat makam masih terus dikumandangkan. Semisal dengan diadakannya pengajian setiap Hari Ahad bagi masyakat sekitar.
Saat ini terdapat masjid yang jauh lebih besar bila dibandingkan dengan masjid di komplek makam Ki Ageng Perwito, yakni Masjid Agung Desa Ngreden.
