★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Litbang kehutanan biotek memiliki tugas pokok fungsi beberapa bidang penelitian, namun masih dalam lingkup kehutanan.
Litbang mengerjakan penelitian bidang pemuliaan tanaman kehutanan, seperti nyamplung, kayu putih, sengon, acacia, jati dll.
Selain itu balai ini juga mengerjakan bidang konservasi genetik tanaman hutan dan satwa liar. Baik dengan menerapkan aspek genetika molekuler dengan menggunakan penanda DNA, maupun secara konvensional.
Serta bidang bioteknologi yang melibatkan lab genetika molekuler maupun kultur jaringan.
Sumber daya manusia yang dimiliki balai ini : terdiri dari peneliti yang sebagian besar S3 dan S2. Teknisi serta staff non struktural yang bertugas memfasilitasi kegiatan penelitian.
Biotech forestry research and development has the main function of several research fields, but it is still in the forestry scope.
R & D undertakes research in the field of forestry plant breeding, such as nyamplung, eucalyptus, sengon, acacia, teak etc.
In addition, this center also works on the genetic conservation of forest plants and wildlife. Either by applying aspects of molecular genetics using DNA markers, or conventionally.
As well as the field of biotechnology which involves molecular genetics and tissue culture labs.
The human resources that this center has: consists of researchers, mostly doctoral and postgraduate degrees. Technicians and non-structural staff in charge of facilitating research activities.
