★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kecamatan DEPOK, berawal pada akhir abad ke-17 seorang saudagar Belanda, bernama Cornelis Chastelein (1657-1714) membeli tanah di Depok dengan harga 700 Ringgit Malaysia, seluas 12,44 km² (hanya 6,2% dari luas Kota Depok yang saat ini luasnya 200,29 km²) atau kurang dari 4 kali luas Kampus Universitas Indonesia.
Pusat titik KM 0 pada Depok zaman dahulu adalah Tugu Depok yang berlokasi di halaman Rumah Sakit Harapan Depok, dan status tanah itu adalah tanah partikelir atau terlepas dari kekuasaan Hindia Belanda.
Cornelis Chastelein menjadi tuan tanah, yang kemudian menjadikan Depok memiliki pemerintahan sendiri, lepas dari pengaruh dan campur tangan dari luar.
Pada zaman kemerdekaan, Depok menjadi sebuah kecamatan yang berada di lingkungan Kewedanaan (Pembantu Bupati) wilayah Kecamatan Parung, Kabupaten Bogor.

The central point of KM 0 in ancient Depok was the Depok Monument located in the yard of Harapan Hospital Depok, and the status of the land was private land or independent from the Dutch East Indies.
Cornelis Chastelein became a landlord, who later made Depok have its own government, free from influence and interference from outside.
At the time of independence, Depok became a sub-district located in the District of Authority (Assistant Regent) Parung District, Bogor Regency.
