★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been frequenting itasuki since years ago, since I was a kid even when it was still only in the Pluit area. So I went again yesterday at 11am. The food is great as always and I am not complaining about that.
The service though. I do not know if it's because of the lay offs due to pandemic or something else but the employees were quite rude when serving food. Literally just put the utensils down and leaving again without saying enjoy your food or something, gossiping with each other when there were customers, had expressions as if someone owed them money when serving the dishes, using rude intonation when asking the customers if they would like the food cooked for them or customers would like to cook it themselves (note: intonation was like a parent asking an annoying child).
And hygiene matters, due to covid, they do sterilize the utensils by giving it with hot water. The seats were clean. That's okay. Until the next table over, a cockroach came up the table and was just crawling on the table. The employees didn't seem to care.
I would love to frequent this restaurant as I have always done every 2 months while going on dates. But with this sort of service, I would steer clear of this place.
