★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This one of the closest taste of Japanese food that I have tried in UGM area! The raw salmon sushi is so good! I love the atmosphere there, reminds me a lot with Japan. The price is quite high for the students, but really worthy for this kind of authentic Japanese food! I have tried salmon, tuna, udon, salad! They were really delicious! I would like to come back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of great sushi place located in yogyakarta city. The place isn't big, but have a nice comfortable atmosphere with very strong japanese style decoration. Located in the same building with a hotel. In the diner hour it can be a little crowded.
The meals taste excellent, my favourite is their raw salmon or tuna mixed with rice. The quality of the fish is very good, mixed with rice and a little bit soy sauce make the dish perfect. Also, must try their saba shioyaki, they made it pretty authentic, very delicious and well served.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was an enjoyable experience. The service was great and friendly. The food was amazing (i ordered unagi don and California roll). The unagi don was by far the best on the other hand i was not the average enjoyer of California roll but it was fairly above average. The place itself is very small and not easy to find.
I would not recommend to bring the full family here.

The staffs are nice, efficience, the place is clean. The ambience's perfect.
Average price, worth it.
And also provides Old recipe bread, Bluder, Toast.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of best japanese restaurant in town. The place is small but cozy. The gyudon and tako is so delicious. And also get free refill for ocha. restroom and praying room not available, but there is mosque near rhe restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been going to this place for wholesome meal ever since I was doing my undergrad degree in 2014. Prices are reasonable, service is delightful, and the food is great.
I always enjoyed my experience here and I always choose Hikaru whenever I had a hankering for Japanese food.
They also serve beer.
I haven't been here for a while but I'm happy to know that Hikaru maintained its quality.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Taste: Very good, high quality and fresh ingredients. Better than most of Japanese restaurants in Yogyakarta.
Place: Nice and clean, not suitable for large groups because the space is a bit small, with dimmed lighting. Parking lot can only holds small amount of cars.
Price: Although a bit pricey, but the price is really justified by the experience.
Overall, recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy Japanese food experience in Yogyakarta.
