I would often come here when I was young with my parents, to buy DVDs ?
Or to shop for shoes. They have a lot of shoes store lines up... Sometimes you just can't and won't have the stamina to check all the shoes store... There is just to many stores... But you must not underestimated the power of women who went shopping.
My mom would drag my dad, my bro and me arouns this place, either to buy DVDs or to shop for shoes. It just, never ending walk and circling around.
My favorite personal oasis in the market was the compact tiny A&W ( °٢° ) I do buy a big Root Beer Float along with some Monas Cone Ice Cream to recover from all the walking...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An OK place, I like the camera store on 2nd & 3rd floor, they are very helpful, reasonable and experienced. Check this place first in Jakarta if you want to buy any kind of camera. Got my red canon rebel for only Rp 2 mill with full pack, still work after 3 years.

Clothes store on second floor including banks. Price is fair if you can find the right store, just ask and bargain. Becareful for the replica version, again just ask!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All the you need can be obtained in this place. Ranging for the cheapest to the expensive goods are available here. Most people buy from this market for resale yo another party. Parking area becomes a problem, coz they have narrow parking area, sometimes people park their vehicles on the road. So this very difficult access for people with disabilities for enjoying the atmosphere here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is very old, one of the oldest historical shopping places in Jakarta. They surely need an upgrade. Shopping here could be pretty tricky in terms of getting the best deal. However, a lot of people still love to shop here because they can choose from a lot of options.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love this place, good prices good food,bit old but that's why I like it. Nostalgic, the real Jakarta for the real people. Love talking to the locals. Upstairs near the phone shops they have a nice small cafe, sells the best Soto betawi for only tiga puluh ribuh, selulu sibuk. Always stay in pasar baru when in Jakarta. Can't wait to go back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite good place for spesific department store. Inside there a lots of hairstyling equipment store, photographic equipment, watch and fashion. Small food court too. But the sense of abandoned building is atmosphericly true. Like not enough light on corner or emergency stairs, less people for a spacious area and so on. You should visit at working hours or you'll dissapoint.
