★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gudeg is a traditional Javanese cuisine from Yogyakarta and Central Java, Indonesia. Gudeg is made from young unripe jack fruit stewed for several hours with palm sugar, and coconut milk. The main ingredients are young jackfruit, coconut milk, palm sugar, chili, various spices, chicken, egg. Yu Djum is one of famous Gudeg vendors in Jogja. The place is located in small alley and not visible from the main street. Gudeg is good with reasonable price, the place may not be good for group visitor,but it's a good recommendation to try.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gudeg brought down all the way from Yogyakarta to Jakarta from a friend who does PO.
It's an acquired taste. Not everyone likes Gudeg. It's sweet and the sugar is caramelized all over.
It stays fresh for about 24 hours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of Jogjakarta famous food heritage. You should at least come and try it once when you are in Jogjakarta area.
I especially like Gudeg with Chicken drum-stick. The price is also reasonable.. and if they ran out of chili, you can ask for fresh Chili padi. :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Authentic and old fashioned Gudeg Kering located in small residential area. For those who like very sweet Gudeg, this is for you. A must visit place in Yogyakarta for tourists, since it's one of a legend Culinary destination in Yogyakarta. The venue is small, in a small old house but they only accommodating 6 cars parking lot (which is occasionally fully occupied). It is not right in the busy road (behind it's Branch) you have to go in to the small street (alley like).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located inside narrow gang, but once you get to the place, they have a spacious parking area. It's a humble place with the legendary taste of gudeg yogyakarta. I love the taste of this gudeg, the sweetness is still bearable, since i don't really like sweet- savory food, but this one i can definitely enjoy.
