★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Berawal dari peresmian gapura desa pada tahun 90an oleh Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, beberapa hari setelahnya ratusan burung Kuntul mendatangi Dusun Ketingan dan membuat sarang di hampir semua pohon yang ada disana. Pada awalnya masyarakat menganggap burung-burung tersebut sebagai hama, dan berusaha mengusir burung-burung itu.
Tapi bukannya pergi, burung-burung tersebut malah makin banyak, dan berkembang biak disana. Akhirnya masyarakat memutuskan untuk hidup berdampingan dengan mereka.
Hingga pada tahun 2004 Dusun Ketingan ditetapkan sebagai Desa Wisata, karena saking banyaknya populasi burung Kuntul di daerah tersebut. Datanglah pagi atau sore hari, saat burung-burung tersebut mencari makan dan saat kembali ke sarangnya.
Ada beberapa homestay, tempat kopi, restauran, dan tempat nongkrong di daerah Ketingan.

But instead of leaving, the birds multiplied, and multiplied there. Finally the community decided to live side by side with them.
Until 2004, Ketingan Hamlet was designated as a Tourism Village, due to the large population of egrets in the area. Come in the morning or evening, when the birds are looking for food and when they return to their nests.
There are several homestays, coffee places, restaurants, and hangout places in the Ketingan area.
