★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not my favorite place, I suppose. I like the ambience, especially because I went here in the evening, so the place looked so nice with the light of the lamps. But I feel irritated with one of the cashiers’ manner. How she served the customer was so unpleasant. She’d better improve it, for a better service.
I actually like traditional food, but what they had that time was something I didn’t expect. No warm meals, even the rice was cold and hard. The only thing which was warm/hot was the gorengan, the made by order food. For instance mendoan, pisang goreng, telo goreng, or jadah goreng. But my dissatisfaction was paid off by the sambal trasi. It was super nice! Yummy to the max! And so spicy! The sambal trasi won my heart after all.
Wedang uwuh is the best seller drink here. Although I like the lemongrass tea more. I actually wanted to try jamu/herbal drink here but it was out of stock. Price is above standard but still reasonable.
The place is something different. A huge restaurant in Javanese style and wooden interior. Kinda favorite place for tourists. Once you come, you will fall in love with the ambiance of old Javanese houses decades ago. Warm but calming the soul.
Live music session is performed by a local band. But I’m not quite sure if it’s a regular one or not. The band was playing easy listening songs or by request. Well, it’s a good place for hanging out with friends or just chilling and enjoying the vibe, despite the cashier’s inappropriate service. 4 stars!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cengkir gave me a unique eating experience. A good food and atmosphere combine into a magnificent and memorable moments. We are lucky that the food are just freshly cooked and hot. Just perfect to start our day with good and heavy brunch. The food is counted based on how many types of food we took no matter how much quantity it is. The quality of the food is above par.. delicious.
What I like about the atmosphere is how the owner manage to maintain the heritage value of the restaurant. Its looks like old wooden restaurant in a remote village that value the East Javanese architecture. Most of the fixtures, fitting and architecture is wood based, which just perfect to bring you back to the past, or at least a taste of Javanese village.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The taste of the food here is not tasty, but still palatable, except for the rice. The rice is undercooked, it's like eating a bunch of paddy. The fried chicken is small and a bit hard to chew.
The ambience is good, its concept is traditional javanese restaurant. The wudhu area needs some improvement. The flow of the water coming out is heavy and can't be controlled, dampen the lower half of my pants
I won't dwelve further into the service, the price, or the place as I believe other reviewers have covered those areas.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very recommended place for sharing or hanging out with some friends or family with calming from down town Yogyakarta. The ambience is very fresh with botanical & javanese heritage scenery. The prices are very affordable, local javanese menus, cash & debit payment, huge parking motor & car, their server is well, a lot of table for dine in, indoor & outdoor for smoking free access, toilet & prayer room available, and accoustic session for the night!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So glad we came here to have breakfast. We were able to enjoy breakfast with a view. And it’s only 1,5km from pur acommodation. The ambience was kind of calming and healing. The food and drinks were great. If I’m allowed to make request, probably change the music to traditional music? But still it was a good time we had here and would love to come back again someday.

However they serve variety of Javanese dishes and strong coffee. Customer usually comes as a group. I think this place is OK for hangout and chill with you friend.
