★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stasiun ini dahulu dibangun sebagai bagian dari jalur kereta api Yogyakarta–Magelang oleh Pemerintah Hindia Belanda yang dibuka pada tanggal 1 Juli 1898.
Bangunan stasiun ini kemudian dirombak dengan arsitektur bergaya 1950-an, dari yang semula semi permanen.
Memasuki tahun 1970 penumpang di stasiun ini menurun karena kereta api saat itu berjalan dengan kecepatan sangat pelan, karena jalur rel kereta api banyak yang berdampingan bahkan ada yang melintasi jalan raya Jogja Magelang.
Para pengguna trasportasi lebih memilih menggunakan transportasi lain seperti bus, mobil, dan lain-lainnya.
Karena terus merugi, Perusahaan Jawatan Kereta Api (PJKA) menutup jalur ini pada tahun 1976 dibarengi dengan putusnya jembatan kereta api yang melintas sungai Krasak karena terkena aliran lahar dingin Gunung Merapi yang melintasi sungai Krasak.
 This station was built as part of the Yogyakarta-Magelang railroad by the Dutch East Indies Government which opened on July 1, 1898.
The station building was later overhauled with 1950s-style architecture, from what was originally semi-permanent.
Entering 1970 passengers at this station declined because the train when it was running at very slow speed, because many railroad tracks were side by side and some even crossed the Jogja Magelang highway.
Transportation users prefer to use other transportation such as buses, cars, and others.
Because it continues to lose money, the Railroad Bureau Company (PJKA) closed this route in 1976 along with the breaking of the railroad bridge that crossed the Krasak river due to exposure to the cold lava flow of Mount Merapi which crosses the Krasak river.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Baru ngeh kalau di tempel ada stasiun.. kayaknya ini kemaren pas saya mudik ke Wonosobo via jalur Utara.. biar ga kena macet dan jalannya halus
I just noticed that there is a station attached ... I think this is when I went home to Wonosobo via the North route ... so that it doesn't get stuck and the road is smooth

Kereta APi ( heritage ) dan bila suatu saat jalur ka yogya magelang aktif kembali bisa jadi di relokasi jalur petak jalannya ..
still standing strong ,, became the history of the railroad in Masalulu now turned into an inactive station and included in the status of the cultural heritage train station by PT. APi train (heritage) and if one day the Ka Yogya Magelang line is active again it could be relocated on the lane plot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stasiun Tempel yang berada di jalur NIS Yogya-Secang dan sekarang beralih fungsi sebagai taman kanak-kanak, ke asrian stasiun masih bagus tidak banyak yang berubah, tersisa juga toren air untuk lokomitf yang tidak jauh letaknya dari stasiun ini
The Tempel Station which is on the NIS Yogya-Secang line and is now changing its function as a kindergarten, to the beautiful station is still good, not much has changed, there is also water toren for locomotives which are not far from this station
