The chili sauce is goodd, not too spicy, but a little bit salty . The bakwan itself is best eaten hot. It’s flavorful, crispy on the edge & soft inside

Must eat this immediately since it will get soggy after a while. They also have the half-fry option for take away and delivery so you can just refry them at home to enjoy. Taste wise, they are good especially for snacks and affordable too

Opening Hours: 1 pm - 8 pm Insta: bakwan.pontianak I found this place from dari halte ke halte instagram account and i give it a try. Order through Grab food. Delivery fee based on distance from the store to your location. Price: 5 pieces 12.5k 10 pieces 25k 15 pieces 37,5k 20 pieces 50k You can choose deep fried (mateng) or half cooked (setengah mateng). when it arrived, my food was still warm. If you eat it without sauce, the acetes (rebon) is bit salty but overall the texture is crispy on the outside and soft inside. Quite big for a piece and not greasy. The chili sauce is really good. Good strong scent that can cover the smell of acetes and balance duo flavor of sweet and spicy.

They said it’s traditional food from Pontianak in West Borneo. Just like the other bakwan, but they use salty shrimp and garlic chives. You can tase it much more delicious when you add sambal on it. The price is IDR 2,000 of each. The sellers are very friendly.

Hidden gem! The stall is among the rows of street food stalls on the road between Plaza Indonesia and Grand Indonesia Mall. They sell 3 variant of toppings: - Udang Rebon (the original) IDR 2k per pcs - Ikan Teri IDR 3k per pcs - Rawit rebon IDR 2k per pcs (spicy version of the original). If you plan to eat the bakwans later on, you can opt for the half cooked version. The sambal is spicy, but tasty and make you eat more of those bakwan.
