Meskipun banyak pembeli yang memesan, juru masak tidak memasak semua pesanan dalam satu wajan besar, melainkan bahan dan bumbu diracik satu per satu. Pesanan dimasak satu porsi demi satu porsi di dalam wajan kecil. Ciri khas lainnya bakmi Jawa adalah penambahan suwiran daging ayam kampung rasanya maknyus
