★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located in the middle of a village at Klaten City, to the south of 'Alun-alun', it's rather hard to find, and the street is very narrow. The interior of the 'warung' is very simple. You'll find only a few chairs and glass cupboards with the 'ayam panggang' in it. There ussually no queue and you'll get a very quick services, and of course the still warm 'ayam panggang' at moderate prices. Beside this place, they're selling it at some other stores at Solo and Jogjakarta city, and they supplied at every morning. Enjoy your delicious food . . . . .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Happened to be passing by Klaten so I resorted to Google to inquire for a worthy place to eat. They recommended me Ayam Panggang Klaten and I was sold just looking at the picture.
The restaurant is located on a very narrow one-way street without a parking area. It was so narrow that if a car was parking there, another car wouldn't be able to pass.
The dining area utilizes the owner's porch with a very simple interior. There were only a few chairs and a long table attached to the wall, so you eat side by side facing the wall.
I ordered ayam gending (thigh), usus (intestines), sambal, and rice. A bit disappointed that the sambal doesn't come with chicken and we have to pay for it, but at least the portion of the sambal is quite generous.
And the taste, wow, that was the first time I tried chicken cooked in a different way. The chicken was grilled and topped with dried coconut milk sauce called areh. The flavor seeped into the meat and every bite was flavorful. The sambal was spicy and it complement the chicken and rice perfectly.
They apparently shipped cuts of chicken to neighbor cities Jogja and Solo. If you don't have the chance to visit Klaten you can try visiting these addresses to try Ny. Anggraini's amazing grilled chicken.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Klaten's hidden gem. If you had a chance to visit klaten while you passing by this city, this is a must visit place if you're a foodie. Specialist in roasted chicken with klaten style (lil bit sweet and savory) sweet come from the brown sugar, the coconut milk make it savory. Dine in and take away is available. If you're not klaten's, this place is quite challenging to find, but hey just find it by gmaps or just simply ask to the native where is the location. Definitely will pay another visit!
