Dulu awalnya berlokasi di pojokan barat-utara alun-alun, namun semenjak alun-alun direnovasi dan terpaksa semua PKL alun-alun harus angkat kaki, angkringan kang Gareng sekarang bisa dijumpai di pojok pasar Suronegaran (selatan taman). Walau sudah berpindah tempat, angkringan kang Gareng masih tetap ramai pengunjung (sama seperti dulu ketika di alun-alun).
Pemilik angkringannya sangat ramah, tempatnya nyaman untuk nongkrong, parkiran mobil luas, dan varian hidangan yang tersedia sangat lengkap.
The best Angkringan in Purworejo I have been to. In the past, it was originally located in the north-west corner of the square, but since the square was renovated and all the street vendors had to leave, Angkringan Kang Gareng can now be found in the corner of the Suronegaran market (south of the park). Even though it has moved places, Angkringan Kang Gareng is still busy with visitors (just like in the past when in the square).
The owner of the angkringan is very friendly, the place is comfortable to hang out, the car park is spacious, and the available dish variants are very complete.
