★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As far as Jakarta city limits is concern, this probably is the best beach you could find with convenience and not so pack as compare with the rest of the stretch of Ancol beach. As for the mall is concern, it serve as a harbouring point to park your vehicle in its shelter car park and a snack and beverage point if you so desire.
The beach outside the mall offers endless play time for kids to swim and build sand castle in a clean and safe environment (as benchmark of Jakarta standard). This is certainly not Maldives but hey having a beach front in Jakarta itself it's already mind blowing for me. I never knew it exist. The break waters forms a lagoon within it's beach compound, shields the lagoon area away from any strong waves. A little warning to individual who wants to swim to the break waters side be warn. It's filled with all kinds of rubbish wash up from Ancol side. It certainly will turn you off.
My observation of marine life within the beach is quite impressive. I witness small crabs and tons of sea weeds along the waters near the beach . Fishes can be seen swimming near the surface. Obviously not to be mistaken for Maldives standard, the water is passable enough (Indonesia urban standard).
For the mall part, it's quite sad. Other than the ground level filled with shops. Level 2 onwards are almost empty, save for a popular KFC outlet. Apparently there is a Alive museum but I did not probe further.
It's a great place to rest n relax in Jakarta. Something very unique in the capital's concrete jungle. Stay till sunset. Sunset is beautiful here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place to hang out on weekday because its not too crowded here and you can do many things here like jogging on pier track, or just having sightseeing via boat which is quiet expensive if you are just came alone because they charge you in group for max. 10 people so for less or more in group you will be charge for 100k rupiah. Having lunch quiet hot in Bandar Djakarta but wait until late at afternoon it will be nice time to having early dinner with sunset .. very romantic. The dishes' taste here are so yummy. If you wanna go to 1k island you can go by marina pier to arrange the vacation to one of the 1k island. The prices may vary depends on which island you go to visit. Overall i love being here at afternoon..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good view and nice sunset. Comfortable for family and kids. Many choices of restaurants and rental playing for kids. 3D museum is recomended. Instagram Able for taking picture. Standard not too expensive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ancol is the only one place that offer the highlight of Jakarta City amongst the others. You can name it, from hotel, cottage, restaurants, park, beaches, recreational areas or mini zoos, or even amusement park in one big area. Ancol also has a mall but too bad.. The mall's closed since pandemic. Hopefully it can be opened soon..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fave spots when holiday or staycation seems afar. Better come to this place on early morning, like before 7 am, so the view would still be so serene and quite. Only people who do sports are around. Kids can happily play sands or running around. The beach itself is still closed. So we can only be in the shoreline. Bring your own matt or you can also rent it there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love the place. It has it's own private beach area, next to the outdoor dining areas. So if you are lucky to get the chairs and the weather is nice, then you can have your kids running around and making sand castle nearby, while you are relaxing with your cold ice tea.
The food is ok, really not bad but not that special either, and a little bit expensive (which is understandable since it is currently the only restaurant open in the location).
